MOBILIZING HEALTH CARE TO PREVENT PLASTIC POLLUTION | a toolkit for COVID-19 waste management

This toolkit is an accompaniment to the previous toolkit published by Health Care Without Harm Southeast Asia prior to the pandemic.

It contains the adjustments in methodology required by the present situation in order to ensure the safety of everyone involved in the conduct of the waste audits. It predated the vaccination roll out in the Philippines so it placed stringent measures to ensure the protection of the audit team members from any potential infection, especially COVID-19.

The waste audits conducted would not have been possible if not for the leadership of the Philippine Department of Health (DOH), and the full cooperation of Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center, Lung Center of the Philippines, National Center for Mental Health, National Children’s Hospital and Quirino Memorial Medical Center; and the full support of Break Free From Plastic.
